      <image:title>Home - Why are Ukraine’s children at risk?</image:title>
<image:caption>While the reasons Ukrainian children end up in orphanages ranges, most are exposed to landmines everyday, many are preyed upon and subject to abuse, malnourishment, and the constant threat of sexual exploitation and trafficking. The latter is the most difficult to measure, diagnose and treat for all countries. Our team members are professionals in unexploded ordnance (UXO), landmine removal, medical, psychology, technology and law enforcement disciplines with emphasis in fighting human trafficking and extensive experience in assisting people in austere environments. We specialize in identifying threats to children who are vulnerable to exploitation, and often victims of abuse. We operate in those areas most impacted by the invasion of Ukraine, the combat arena. Our teams are highly trained and adept at identifying, planning then safely accessing these locations under combat duress. Next North leadership is working directly with Ukraine officials and offering assistance with education and awareness materials and training from experienced trafficking professionals. It is for this reason we are asking for assistance in supporting Ukraine so that we can first save lives life and limbs and advise and support the ministries with provide a legal and safe pathway outside of the conflict and battle zones. Along with a formal Ukrainian led Task Force for Children, we will engage, support and offer materials to create awareness and education on UXO, landmines, trafficking and how to get help. The path for 2024 is to assist with educating and creating more awareness on children already located outside of Ukraine and advising those providing legal guardianship with human rights and child protection agencies such as the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the regional governments, and our NGO partners.</image:caption>
